KALAMUNDA MOUNTAIN BIKE NETWORK TRAIL CONCEPT

It's finally arrived - the concept plan for Kalamunda network is complete, and it includes a whopping 18km of new trail!

Common Ground prepared this plan with input from KMBC, DBCA, landmangers and stakeholders since late last year. The goal was to expand the network and find ways to improve infrastructure and flow throughout the network. The development of the concept plan paves the way for new and improved trails to cater for all rider levels and visitors to the area. It includes easier access by improving trail hubs, Gunjin road upgrade and better parking opportunities.

The next step is the design stage, which sets out the fine details of the plan. Large works will require engaging contractors but there will also be scope for KMBC and volunteers to be part of the building process. Once the design plan is complete the plan will roll out in stages. This will likely span over a couple of years depending on budgets.

A big thank you to the KMBC executive committee for their labours in bringing this plan to reality, especially President Cameron Wishart. Kudos!
